It’s getting hot in here! Iced Coffee!

There are so many ways to make iced coffee. Before writing this article i did a quick search.. Every option Looked great but seems to take “the night before” to create. So I’ll give it to you straight and dirty. At the time of writing this it was 30 Celsius today.

Ingredients

  • Tray of ice

  • Highwood Coffee any blend you want. We love the light roast for the most refreshing flavour.

  • Couple glasses

  • A Method of brewing.

  • Extra’s if you want. IE Whole cream, Vanilla , sugar

Directions.

Personally I prefer the Espresso method. But you can use any method you want. Ideally every way to try you’ll want to cool the coffee quickly. Letting it sit for a long time means you’ll loose or alter the flavour. This is why I don’t understand the over night methods. Alas Maybe I should try it before I knock it.

Step #1 Place ice in cup or bowel below the brewer or in my case espresso machine. I brew directly on to the ice.

Step #2 I find if you plan to put extra’s in such as cream do this now. Though I like to add sugar last.

Step #3 As you can tell so far the directions aren’t very detailed. This is because everyone likes their coffee their way. So please do experiment. At this point add your water. typically i’ll use the same measurements as normal, but i try to consider the ice in to the brewing. So when it melts the coffee isn’t watered down. At this point you’ve likely tasted it and you have made adjustments.

Step#4 Experiment or drink! some people love vanilla or mint or carbonated water etc.

Pictures to come.
