Highwood Coffee Update Q1: 2021
Happy 2021.
Our family managed to lay low for the holidays. We wished it was spent with more family but clearly due to the world wide situation we were not able to do so. We simply got out for some walks and had some family time. Lots of facebook portaling/zooming.
We have posted before about a few goals for this year. Which we're currently working on. We hope to create more content in and around Coffee. Please do view our blog https://www.highwoodcoffee.ca/blog for that content. We are really enjoying our main staple coffee blends however we will likely try to roast a Jute (1 60kg bag) of New coffee per quarter. Similar to that of the Papua New guinea "Chimbu" With sales growth doing new blends can work investment wise. With no growth it's a loss to us. Our minimum roast size is about 25lbs
Continuing on this update we wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for the support. Essentially we were making sales in the last quarter of 2020. We had paid for a retail licence, purchased business insurance, bought a number of Jutes of raw coffee, purchased packaging, Brewers, Baratza grinders, hand made ornaments, about 50 LAMOSE tumblers 10/16oz stainless steel coffee cups, as well as other accessories for the farmers christmas market. In that we definitely didn't make back the initial investment but we do see potential in 2021
In 2021 keep a look out for
- Specialty syrups
- LAMOSE stainless tumblers/bottles
- Eureka grinders
- Baratza grinders
- Compostable packaging
- Testing and tasting a number of new blends.
