This Grinder was featured in the New York Times Top Grinders review. It came in as Best over all choice for the grinder that can do it all! and #1 for cost vs performance. This grinder can do pour over all day long.
It can do espresso very well but the finer you go the clumpier it gets. So you’ll need a DWT tool to fluff it back up. When it comes to money this is the best choice out there.
As for loudness. I’d say it’s bearable but loud. A close comparison on youtube showed ambient noise in the kitchen to be 40db and the Baratza was 92db Most higher end grinders 85db. Though it was noticed that the Pitch of noise was different across many brands some nicer to listen to than others.
